I originally moved to the Twin Cities to support my client at Securian Financial — one of the largest financial services companies in the Midwest. The work was great, the city was even better. Then Covid hit, and like a lot of people, I re-evaluated what mattered. I realized Saint Paul had quietly become home, and I stayed.
Since then, Saint Paul has been anything but quiet. I've lived through a global pandemic, witnessed the George Floyd summer firsthand — the protests, the grief, the National Guard on the streets — and more recently watched as ICE operations came to town and put the community on edge. Our city has been a recurring feature on national news for years now.
In some ways, I feel like I landed in the political center of something much larger. There's been real drama here — genuine political theater — and I've had a front-row seat to all of it. Five-plus years later, I'm still here — and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
